KUALA LUMPUR: The Securities Commission has announced four new appointments to leadership positions in the capital market regulator.

In a statement, the regulator said Datin Azalina Adham has been appointed executive director of strategy and policy, a newly created business group, to leverage her vast experience in the financial and capital markets.

Media and communications specialists Datuk Seri Abdul Jalil Hamid has been appointed executive director of strategic communications and chairman's office with a primary role of sharpening the SC’s engagement and communication strategy with key stakeholders.

The SC also promoted Wong Huei Ching to executive director of digital strategy and innovation and appointed Budiman Lutfi Mohamed as new director of enforcement.

On the latter role, the SC said Budiman will lead the SC’s investigation, prosecution and civil enforcement work, in line with a long history of appointments to the SC from the Attorney General’s Chambers.

"Their combined wealth of knowledge and experience, drawn from the public and private sectors, will further strengthen the SC’s capabilities and effectiveness to promote market growth and integrity in a rapidly evolving environment that embraces sustainability, competition and innovation,” said SC Chairman Datuk Seri Awang Adek Hussin.
